Need a hand with STLD? Email resources@thetinyapp.com and we'll get back to you. The answers below cover the most common questions.
Does everyone need the app?
No. Add people by name and start splitting straight away. They only need an account when they want to see the group themselves.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. The whole ledger is on your device, so you can add an expense on a flight or in a basement and it saves the moment you tap save. It catches up with everyone else when there is a connection again.
Where is my data stored?
On your device, and on our server so that the rest of your group can see it. Servers are in India; attachments are on Cloudflare R2. See the Privacy Policy.
Can STLD pay someone for me?
No, and it never will. STLD records who owes what. Marking a debt settled records that you say it was settled — the actual paying happens wherever you normally pay each other.
Someone changed my expense
Any member of a group can edit or delete anything in it. That is deliberate: a shared ledger only one person can correct stays wrong. Every change is listed in the group's activity, so you can see what happened and who did it.
How do I delete my account?
In the app under Account, or email resources@thetinyapp.com. Two things to know. We will not delete an account that still owes or is owed money in a group — settle up first, or everyone else's balances go wrong. And a placeholder with your name stays in the groups you were in, so the expenses you paid for still count. Your identity goes; the arithmetic stays.
Something is broken
Email resources@thetinyapp.com with your device model, your OS version, and what you were doing when it happened. STLD does send us crash reports, but deliberately without the error's message — that can contain an amount or somebody's name — so a description from you is still the fastest way to a fix.
